• Chinese name: Jen
• Colors: Green and blue
• Body part association: Hand

The family area directly affects your immediate family as well as all your relatives. This is the area to cure to family feud’s and is also used to balance and create harmony between family members. In the business world, the family area affects all the employees including the management team. The location of the house corresponding to this area of the bagua is right side of the house assuming you are standing inside facing the front door.

The Knowledge Area of the Bagua

• Chinese name: Gen (pronounced guhn)
• Colors: Blue, green, and black
• Body part association: Hand

The knowledge area affects the spiritual, mental and inner area of your life. This is the area to cure if you wish to increase your IQ level or if you wish to become smarter or wiser. In the business world, the knowledge area is connected with the business data, good decision making, competitive intelligence and computer networks. The location of the house corresponding to this area of the bagua is right front side of house, directly next to the front door area, assuming you are standing inside facing the front door.

The health area of the bagua is probably the most important part to most people. It is directly linked with your physical health. Because this area is right in the center of the house, it also relates to the person in the house directly and affects all areas of your life at once. The health area is the center of it all where all 8 areas connect. All energies connect and pass through the center. In the business world, this area directly affects the health of the people in the company as well as the financial health of the company overall.

The next 3 areas of the Bagua I will cover are the marriage, fame, and wealth areas.

The Marriage Area of the Bagua

• Chinese name: Kun (pronounced Kuhn)
• Colors: Pink, red and white
• Body part association: Internal organs

The marriage area is directly connected to your marriage or intimate relationship with your significant other. This area affects the quality of your relationship as well as your ability to find a new spouse or significant other. This area is also associated with the females in your household, such as your wife, sister, daughter, aunt and so on.

In the business aspect this area is referred to as the partnership area and affects your business partners. The location corresponding to this area of the Bagua is the back left corner of your house assuming you are standing inside facing the front door.

This is the area that affects the fame in your life. Yes, the Hollywood type of fame with all the glitz and glamour. Lights, camera, action! Since money is the primary concern of a business or why else would you open a business? The location corresponding to this area of the Bagua is the back right of your house assuming you are standing inside facing the front door.

Below I will go over and describe the 9 life areas of the Bagua with its corresponding colors, the body part association as well as its Chinese name. No one area is more important than the other. When used with the Feng Shui principles it can contribute to a more balanced and prosperous life.

The Career Area of the Bagua

• Chinese name: Kan (pronounced kahn)
• Colors: Black and midnight blue
• Body part association: Ears and Kidneys

The career area of the Bagua deals with you career and work. This life area is a great one to tackle if you want to find a better job, increase relationships with co-workers or even get a promotion. The location corresponding to this area of the Bagua is the front and center of your home which would be the front door area in most circumstances.

The Helpful People Area of the Bagua

• Chinese name: Ch’ien (pronounced chyen)
• Colors: Gray, white, and black
• Body part association: Head

The helpful people area of the bagua deals with any traveling you may do. If you plan to travel or travel a lot and wish for safer trips this area is worth curing. It is said that on your travels you will meet more helpful people and will be safer. This area also enhances your relationships with business contacts, partners, employees and clients and so on. The location corresponding to this area of the Bagua is the front left of your house or to the left of the front door, assuming you are standing inside facing the front door.

The Children Area of the Bagua

• Chinese name: Dui (pronounced dway)
• Color: White
• Body part association: Mouth

The children area of the baqua is connected to the well being, health and the progress of your children. If conceiving a child is a problem, try curing this area. This area also concerns the your creativity, artistic and the quality and clarity of your communication skills. In a business this area relates to employees, creativity and communication.

The Ba-Gua (pronounced bah-gwah) is an instrument used for the analysis of Feng Shui. It enables you to discern how the areas of your home or office are affecting the corresponding areas of your life. The Ba-Gua divides your floor plan into 9 different areas. Each of the 9 areas corresponds to specific area of your life. If your home or office is the shape of a square then the sizes of each area is equal, however in odd shaped homes or offices the sizes of each area will vary. The Ba-Gua enables you to pinpoint the areas you wish to work on or area that need improving in your life.
